Loved Ones

This is the place where you'll find a bit about some of my favorite people.  They're close friends and wonderful family.  I don't have pictures for everyone yet, but please be patient- there's always new additions in the making.  Also, I hope to have links to people's personal pages via their pictures.  So in future stop by and click on a head or two, and see what pops up! :D

Thanks!

Meet my beautiful, silly, sometimes harder-than-I'd-like-'er-to-be mother.  She's an inspiration and guiding force for me (whether I like it or not) every day, and I love her with all of my heart.  She took me around to plays, museums, and other wonderful events when I was a kid, and was the one who worked her tuchus off while I was growing up to buy me things like scads of colored pencils, and literally boxes of drawing pads!  She's  married to an awesome gent by the name of Kerry, whom I love a great deal (but with whom I don't always get along), they've been together for ages now, and it's great to see my mom so happy w/ someome she loves so much.  They cater for all the best in the NoVa/DC area, & have houses all over VA.  If Mom didn't work so much doing everything else, she might know better how to navigate the net.  But taking care of their cabin in Linden, their new place in Chantilly, & doing all the other million-bazillion things they do, these people a ALWAYS busying about something.  (Wish they both would slow down a little and not drive themselves so crazy so much.  But hey, they're busyabout people, so what can you do?)  Their cabin is one of the coziest places around, and in the wilderness just like my mom likes. it. :)  Glad they've got the new place in Chantilly. It's cozy too, and back in the old neighborhood where I started my life.  Weird huh?  Funny how things move in circles.  Kerry's not too happy about it, but mom's enjoying it- and I think the place is the bomb. ..Maybe she'll give the place to me when they don't need it anymore. :D

Love you, Mommy. ;)

Meet my grandmother, who's holding a kitty I used to have not tooo long ago.  Granny's fun, into mysteries on TV and in books, and loves antiquing, Inspector Morse, Poirot, + the Saturday Sillies.  She digs Westerns big-time as well.  She's the most fun, sweet Gramma anyone could ever have.  She's let me stay in her home during the summers while I was in college, and is doing so now again while I'm out of college but looking for employment elsewhere.  I'm completely blessed to have her in my life, as well as grateful to have her in my heart, and that she's let me in her home for so very long, with no promises, contracts, or other conditions.  She's too good.  Love you too, Granny! :D

And this, this is my father.  He's not been around too much since I was about four, but lately he's begun to get quite a bit more involved in my life.  He still owes about $27,000 in child support, but he does seem to be taking his fatherly role a great deal more seriously now.  He came down to see me after many too many years not long ago, and this is a pic of him in the bumper gocarts we played in.  GAWDS we had fun!!  It's nice, getting to know this guy that's in recordings from when I was two, but whom I haven't really seen much since...  We've got a long time to make up for, but his new commitment and an apparent conversion to devout Christianity really seem to be the makings for a new, solid, good start. :)

Meet Melanie, one completely awesome chick!  She's married to Mr. Chris M., (a guy we both met through The NRV Camarilla WOD LARP), and they live not too far away from me, in Waynesboro.  They're working hard, doing well, and the two of them fit like perfect puzzle pieces.  They also just got a new house.  Woohoo!!  I met Mel through the RU Role Player's Guild, an later hung with her in the Cam.  Although I left the org. a few years back, she's still going strong there, and travels when she can to different venues.  I'm thankful each day to be close to someone so sweet and lovingly spirited as she, and even happier now that she's so close.  She's a great singer, a super teacher, and she's definitely a remarkable friend. :)

This is my other ex-roommate, Jennifer.  She's in Kentucky with Chris, and has just gotten a cool job at Lane Bryant.  You go girl!  I met her what seems ages ago in jewelry class @ RU- where I dropped out, she persevered, and Crucifix excelled at making jewelry that made us both hate him. :)  Even though she's far away, we still try to keep close, and get together whenever both our hectic schedules will allow.  I hope we keep in touch, and that we get closer with each passing year- not farther apart as so many college friends do.  She's a great gal to have around, and I have a feeling we'll be friends for a really long time :)  (Or at least, I really hope so).  I mean, she's creative, business-minded, pretty, and look what she can do with eyeliner! :D

Chris's self-portrait. :)  Ain't it great?!?!?!?  And above; a recent pic.  (Yay!!!)  Relatively accurate, huh? ;)

Most of us know multiple Chris's, so we've turned Chris W. into a nick for some jewelry he used to wear.  He's a wonderful friend, a talented photographer & jewelry maker, as well as an exemplary Christian.  He's into Warhammer 40K mini painting, and he's a ton of fun to be around.  He's nuts, incredibly intelligent, sweet, and just about the nicest guy on this big watery rock I know.  It's his fault I'm into Jhonen Vasquez' work, as well as a bunch of other niff things like looking more seriously at things from religion to BME.  But I got him into Invader Zim, so there! :)  Ahem.. anyway..  he's spiff.. He also just moved away to MISSOURI, so I think he stinks!!  Nah, jk.  He rocks.  I just miss 'im.  Maybe he'll let me come visit someday. :)

Meet Chris P, a brutally intelligent guy with killer dry wit and immense writing talent.  He's Jen's love and my other ex-roommie.  He likes Wing Commander, 40K, AD&D, Amber, and things like World In Flames and Civilization.  He's a MUSH king, military & general history buff, and he knows geography by battles that played there- which always amazes me.  Chris can give a person more battle info nd probably smarter military or political tactics than I think most leaders ever could.  And to top it all off he's great with computers, can handle just about any kind of conversation no matter how goofy I make it, and he's a real sweetheart.  I'm really glad I have him for a friend. :)

Next up, Charlie; a man far more 3-D than he appears here. :)  I've known Charlie since Theatre class in high school, and since then he's always been close.  He's an all around gaming guru, playing everything from D&D to Warhammer 40K and WOD games, and is one of the few people I trust to go to with ideas and questions about practically anything on gaming.  He's a kick-arse writer, more intelligent than most smarties hope to be, and has a huge heart.  He loves debates though, so don't get him started unless your arguments are well-thought out, prepared, and you're ready to go into a serious mission of debate/theory.  This guy can game just about anybody under the table, and is coming up with his own game, which someday I'd love to help illustrate.  He'll most certainly be on the world-wide gaming map someday, and I hope to be close by to see it!

This is Michele, a wonderful friend and a really fun, interestin' gal!  She's graduated from RU too, with her masters in Psychology.  She's got a great family consisting of a super hubby, an angel of a wife, and two terrific kids.  This woman works hard at being a great mom, a great friend, and a great teacher of many things. She's also a Wiccan high priestess, who takes her many of her waiys & faith from her Monoccan heritage.  How cool is that?.  She excels at everything she does, and shows a great deal of spirit, strength, and wisdom in every aspect of her life.  She's an awesome gal and a super friend, and I hope we stick close even though she's still in the south, and I"m trying to move to God knows where!

Meet Erika, in a pic of her I did while we were both still in school.  She's a gal who's just about prrrfect! :)  She's fun, crazy, insightful and caring.  I met her under the same circumstances as Melanie, and they being friends, we became quite the trio!  Not only did we terrorize the Cam and the RRPG, we took our bites out of RU and the NRV as well!  This lady is a major cat lover, works at a police station, and lives with her awesome mom in No. Va.  I don't see her as often as I'd prefer, but hopefully as soon as my future comes together, I can plan more visits to her and her two kitties.  Heck I've got Christmas presents yet to give! :)  Love ya, chica!

Dis be Matt- or EMO as some of us like to call him. :)  I've known him ever since I joined the Radford Role Player's Guild at RU.  He's an absolutely super chap.  He's kind, generous, sweet, and fun, not to mention a super gamer too!  He's driven down to come get me I don't know how many times, and has let my pathetic bum roost in his crib for untold numbers of times- even when there was no certain date as to when I was getting the hezmata out! :):)  He's a major hockey fan, (specifically for the Caps), and don't you even get him STARTED on him and L5R.  He'll kick yer booty where the card game is concerned, and can tell you about practically anything existing in the L5R universe.  He's also an anime aficionado, a big fan of "Sorceror Hunters," and got me hooked on "Slayers."  (Which kicks much bootay.  Whoopee!  Go Gourry!)

Dis be Jessi and Mark.  They're roommates of my friend Matt, and I'm very glad I've met them through my various stays at their home.  It's been many a time when I've had to stay longer than I'd expected, but they both made me feel more than welcome, and freely shared not only their space, but their food, drink, kindness and hospitality w/ me.  They both just rock.  Jessi's a scrapbooker, crochets like a mad-fiend, and does wonderful work with PhotoShop.  We've gotten pretty close over the past year, and now she's asked me to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming New Year's Eve wedding!  *does a little happy dance*  (I've never been a bridesmaid before).  I just threw her a fantabulous bridal shower, & I can't wait to see their marriage last for happily ever after!  As for Mark, he's a gaming wiz who plays everything from card games to video games and everything else in between.  He's smart, got a great dry humour, and really stands by his friends like a trooper.  He don't take no bullshit, and gives better zen-bs out. ;)  Who wouldn't adore them?

Courtney is a friend I was introduced to purely by accident.  She not only LARPs with Mark & Jessi at OWBN, but also comes over to their house a lot- being a good friend of Jessi's & Matts lady-love. :)  She taught Jessi how to crochet, which in turn inspired them to create Handmade With Love; a small business the two of them founded to sell their crocheted work.  Even though business is slow atm, they still sell at goth clubs in the No. Va./DC area.  I -love- watching them work- making something completely usable out of a spool of string, and can't help but admire their creativity & skill  Courtney's a great blanket-maker, and has a great spark for life.  She'll always tell it to you straight, & be there for you when you need her, down or otherwise.  You rock, gal!

Meet Will.  He's an old friend of Mark's as well, but not as old as Darkness or the other Will, Will W.  He was living on Mark Matt & Jessi's couch when I first started hanging out there more often, & I got to know him from there.  (They only have one guest area, & that's the couch). :)  He and I have dated off and on, but we're still really great friends.  He's about the sweetest guy I know, and TOO guilty of being a pushover.  Like me, he suffers from a bit of a martyr complex, but his great humor, tenderness & sheer POWERFUL SNUGGLIES ABILITIES make up for any drawback he may have. :)  He's *gasp* not that big into gaming, although he does occasionally attend OWBN & play a video game or two.  He's enormously generous, and lets me play on his comp for my Sims addiction. :D  (Fankyoo, Will). :)   Plus, he's GOTTA be my splitapart; we're so similar in so many intrinsic, soul/spirit internal places.  (Scary, isn't it?)  He's lookin' to get a place out on his own too, and working (coincidentally) at a place that a branch of my family used to own.  One more way it's a small, small world. :)

This is Kelly, a nifty gal who not only knows how to laugh, be silly & have a good time, but also how to juggle work, home & social life, activities with the SCA, friends, & the million other things she tackles!  If you need someone to talk with, someone to get goofy with, or to teach you how to sew a chemise or bodice in time for the upcoming Ren. Fest or SCA event, she's your woman.  She sews, dances, & eats rocks! :)  She's got a job doing something she enjoys and that's interesting, (we can all only hope to be so lucky,) and lives with a wonderful chap by the name of John.  He got her into archery (and a few more fun activities), :) at the SCA, & they have two CUTE li'l ferrets & one groovy black cat. They just bought a new house, and already the place looks like home.  They kick such major arse. :)  *sob*  Lookout world, Kelly's on her way!

Introducing Soran, another friend of mine named Chris.  I met him just this year in Blacksburg through David, and I'm really glad I did.  He's a super guy.  He's a complete Buffy fan, into ST & SW, and is a really intense gamer.  Not only that, but this guy can do just about anything with Photoshop.  (Makes me sick with jealousy!:))  He's philosophical, smarter than he gives himself credit for, and would be an amazing ladykiller if he just gave himself the proper credit.  He's an ultra-snappy dresser, digs going to Radford for parties, and has a silver tongue, rockin' taste in music, and a great voice to boot.  Oh, and did I mention he can write?  The only thing he can't do is stay living in B-burg...  GothChris wants to snatch him up to PA when he gets a job up there. :(  I know Dave and Ryan'll miss him, and no doubt others I haven't met will too.  But he'll be closer to me, so there! ;)

I met this one at a Changeling game in Blacksburg, hosted by the Camarilla, and fell in love with his character's black angel wings and courtly manner at once.  He's smart, fun, and a super-spiff DM.  He games D&D and WOD, and is a SUPER-MEGA-CRAZY Buffy fan, not to mention Farscape, Star Trek, and Star Wars too.  He's also got this accent that I swear has to come from his past life as a Scot, even though he was born and bred in Suffolk, Va., and his looks are reminiscent of old, classic English nobility, (which makes him a shoe-in for the Sidhe he was playing when I met him.)  He can be a real cool guy whom I get along with pretty darn well, and I'll never regret getting to know him.  He's one heck of a character. :)  And ANOTHER one of those insatiable flirts in my life.  (..It must be in the water or something). :)  He's going through school now to get his degree, and I just know he'll make it clean out w/ aces.  He's another soul trying to get out of VA, and another reason why I wish I could just start a weirdo commune consisting of all my friends and move far far away, to live somewhere fun & near each other.

Yegods, ANOTHER Chris!  *sighs and smiles*  Well thank the lord we've another nickname for this one too. :)  This is GothChris, (though Chris Walker a.k.a. Crucifix is pretty dang gothy in his own right, and the first gothy Chris I've know).  I met him through the Blacksburg gamer's circuit- i.e. Soran, Dave, Ryan, etc.  Soran brought him to one of Dave's D&D games, and although Chris didn't stick around for it as long as we'd have liked, he has stuck around in the crowd sense, and we're all glad he did.  He's just moved and is about to work for Geico, and is planning on taking Soran w/ him sometime.  Although I'm here in H-burg, I'm with the B-burg guys and am gonna miss him now that he's not about as often.  Much success, you!

Doug & Tenoya.  A very handsome, very together couple.  Aren't they both gorgeous??

Doug!!!  This man majorly kicks ass.  I met him though GothicPersonals.com, but it turns out I had seen him a few times going about at club in DC.  He lives in Manassas with his ladyfair Tenoya, & is, like myself, currently unimployed.  (Not for long, though!)  He's got a great sense of humor, is an absolutely wonderful goof, has a super sense of style, and is another one of those insatiable flirts that just get under your skin and make you smile. He's sweet, caring, & bilngual to boot! :)  I've done a lot of image-work for him, (kuz he and Photoshop don't get along), and he and T are engaged to be married!  How cool is that??  CONGRATULATIONS, SWEETIE!  You deserve it!  These to are a WONDERFUL couple.  I -know- their love will last forever.:)

Darkness (yes, ANOTHER Chris) is Mark's best friend.  He's been around forever in the Markverse, and I've known him for oh.. about a year now.  He's a major club-goer, works at Shrinkwrap City, and is one HELL of a flirt!  He's also petty quiet, a major buzz in the fashion scene, and is much more insightful, intelligent, mature & wise than many (methinks including himself sometimes) give him credit for.  I'd love to get to know this guy better. He seems like he'd have a lot of interesting things to say.

Well, that's about it.  Thanks to all my loved ones who've stuck with me throughout the years. I've many more friends and family whom I'd love to mention here, but for one reason or another (mostly kuz they've no webpage orpic for me to use here), they'll have to remain in my list of blessings and not on this page.  I'm thankful to each any every person who's been close to me in my life, and pray that we all stay close and steadfast (if not get closer) for many more years to come! *hugs & love*

Renae.
