"SO WHAT -IS- A
ZOMBIE LURCH, ANYWAY???"
Simple! Firstly,
it's synonymous with a "Zombie Walk," something which has been held in
various cities all over the world, and is gaining ever-increasing
popularity! A "Lurch" or "Walk" (to some even a
"Zombie Pub Crawl") is an event where people deck themselves out in tattered,
gore-covered clothing, make themselves up with the most ghoulish horror makeup
they can concoct, and gather to shamble through the unsuspecting streets of
their chosen city- as a (pseudo) horde of the walking dead!

Want to join in on the
fun? Shamble up and be counted! Just
send me:
Your
name:
Your phone number:
Your e-mail address:
How many people (including yourself) you'll be bringing:
As well as any additional comments/inquiries/suggestions you may have:
And
you're done!
And don't
worry: None of the information you give us will be passed on to -any-
3rd party sources. All info submitted will be used in the strictest
of confidence- unless express permission otherwise is given by you.

"So
What's This Lurch Thing For?"
Welll, some call it a protest, others call it a great chance to
show off their "zombie pride." Some call it an excuse to dress
up, while some folks just call it a chance to have a little fun w/makeup.
Still others see it as a chance to have fun at the expense of B-movies and the
Horror genre, or to support their fan-dom. Various folks see it as a
chance to pay homage to their favorite writers, directors, and movie monsters,
while still others just value the chance to get out of their everyday routine to
do something truly different... But no matter what your motivation,
inspiration, or modus operandi, we highly encourage you to get bitten by
the Zombie Lurch bug, and then pass it on! (Don't worry, it won't
hurt a bit, & you'll be amazed at how contagious it ca be! ;D)
Seriously though- if
you're getting into the spirit of things and like the idea of our Zombie Walk,
don't forget to spread the word! We invite people to bring friends,
family- anyone who might be interested becoming a walking corpse for the
afternoon. :) -After all, the bigger the horde the better! (And you
know the story- there's always room for one more!)
Most importantly though,
have fun and remember to explore
all your options. Play around with ideas, costumes, makeup and the
like; even come up w/a back-story for your character if you want to. Feel
free to let loose, go a little crazy & experiment w/different concepts and
inspirations. And never, ever be afraid to think outside the
coffin. We want folks to get into it, be creative, & use a little
imagination as they prepare to join our shambling ranks!!
However, don't
be too worried about how expensive (or inexpensive) your zombie getup
might be. There's no need to be intimidated by elaborate costumes or
expensive makeup n' prosthetics. Although we love all that, and we're all
for "whooping it up in style" so to speak, keep in mind some of the
greatest, most original costumes and makeup jobs come from simple, low-budget
elements and ingredients. Check out all your options and compare
prices. Being open to new sources and having the willingness to sort
through hand-me-downs and thrift stores can be great assets to any would-be
zombie impersonator. Some of the best zombie stuff can come from unlikely
places; like your nearest old-stuff storage space, the grocery store, army
surplus outlet, or even the hardware department. So keep an eyes peeled,
an ear to the ground, n' no doubt your zombie creation will be perfect!
Oh yeah, and never
forget the golden rule: Don't take yourself (or your costume) toooo
seriously. Just have fun and see what wonderfully hideous or funny
ideas you can come up with! :D

And that's about
it! Still need more information? Check
out the links below and to the left. They'll direct you to everything you
need to know about the Lurch, its affiliates, and how to be one seriously
wicked zombie.
We hope you enjoy your
visit, and please- if you have any questions, comments, or ideas, feel free to e-mail
me- (the organizer and web-mistress of the Lurch).
Thanks, and hope to see
you there!

Like the new music? The awesome
guys of the S. Dakota band Wumpus made it, and have kindly put it on their MySpace webpage for download! :D:D It's called "March of Nobody's Nose." Isn't it coo'? :D:D If you like what you hear, check
them out at their myspace page,,
listen to some more of their fun, oft-zombie-centric music, and let 'em know your heard it here! :D:D
And that's it! Thanks for stopping by, and hav a great day/night! ^_^

Thank you,
and we hope to see you back again soon!!
